Scented Oil - Orange & Clove
Klinta’s Scented Oils! Because once you’ve found your favourite fragrance, you want to spread it everywhere in every way, don’t you?! Klinta’s Scented Oils contain exactly the same exclusive fragrances as in our candles and diffusers but in a much more concentrated mixture, allowing huge flexibility when using in the home.
Some of the ways to use your Scented Oil: • In the bath tub. Add a few drops of scented oil to your bath water for the whole bathroom to smell gorgeous. • In your vacuum cleaner. Add a few drops of scented oil to your hoover bag and in the blink of an eye you bring fragrance to your home while you clean. • In aroma lamps/diffusers. Electric varieties as well as those heated by tealights are available. Dilute a few drops in some water and the room fills with fabulous fragrances. • On potpourris and artificial flowers. Add scent to the summer’s dried blooms or plastic flowers time and time again. • In perfume cushions. Sew your own perfume cushions and fill them with an absorbent material like sawdust or cotton wool. Add the scented oil to the filling beforehand inside a plastic bag. Shake and repeat until you’re happy with the level of fragrance. Just make sure that you don’t use so much that the filling becomes moist. • In aroma crucibles, pomanders or aroma stones. • In the sauna. All essential oils work well in saunas. They should always be diluted in water before pouring onto the aggregate so as to avoid flaring. For ironing. Mix a few drops of scented oil in a spray bottle of water before spraying on fabric. Your clothes will smell great and the ironing might actually be nicer to do too! Be careful though to test the diluted solution on a small piece of fabric first to avoid problems. • If you’ve got a cold. A drop of eucalyptus or mint oil on your pillow will help you breathe more easily at night if you’re bunged up. • In the car. Mix a little scented oil with some warm water and spray on the seats and mats. Be careful though to test the diluted solution on a small area of seat and mat fabric first to avoid staining. • In the linen cupboard. Soak up a few drops with an absorbent cotton pad and slide in between the sheets! • On old dishcloths. Citrus oil in hot water is antibacterial. Soak the cloths for at least an hour.
The difference between an essential oil and a perfume oil Essential oils are drawn directly from the plant world as with our lavender fragrance where lavender flowers have been distilled down to a pure, natural essential oil. Or our lemongrass fragrance where the essential oil is the result of cold-pressing the raw material. Essential oils can be used in aromatherapy. Lavender for example is relaxing while citrus is uplifting. A huge amount of raw material is needed to produce essential oils: a 10ml bottle of Lavender Scented Oil requires 1.3kg of lavender flowers! And the fragrances are fantastic. Essential oils are often used in cuisine, confectionary, perfumes and, like we do at Klinta, in candles and diffusers! Our perfume oils are a blend of many different ingredients, including essential oils, that together create a fragrance that arouses a feeling of something, for example Bubbly & Pink Grapefruit. It is very difficult, to say the least, to distill sparkling wine to obtain an essential fragrance! So instead we mix a number of different components, sometimes 100s of them, that together give a sense of ‘Bubbly’ and of luxury.
